Sometimes It Sucks to Have Ideas

Sunday, June 4th, 2006

There is no doubt that Toni is the entrepreneur in this small business. She’s the one with the big ideas - the vision - the ability to see opportunities - and she certainly has plenty of them and she can turn them into a successful business if she has the time.

Unfortunately, for quite some time now, she has been too busy fulfilling other roles in this small business and we have had to sit and watch others pick up her ideas and run with them. That has been a rather frustrating experience for both of us.

But no more. Over the weekend we decided that if she was the entrepreneur in this outfit then she was going to spend her time turning her dreams into opportunities and the opportunities into real businesses. It’s scary, it’s challenging but it’s going to happen because her time is wasted doing basic work that someone else could be doing.

So if you want your small business to grow make sure that you have the right person in the right job and if you’re the entrepreneur in your business make sure you have plenty of time to dream and plenty of time to turn those dreams into opportunities.
