| Small Business Messages Your clients are listening but what are you saying? I saw a small business person say something in front of a group of his clients and potential clients yesterday that made me my jaw drop and left me scratching my head. He was quite calmly telling these people that he wouldn’t be doing any of the work they had paid him to do that yesterday because he was busy on his own projects. Perhaps I’m old fashioned or maybe my expectations are way too high. But if I had been paying that person to do some work for me the last thing I would want to hear was that he was too busy to do it because he was working on his own projects. If I was a prospective client the last thing I would want to hear was that this small business was one that was happy to take my money but not give me a decent level of service in return. I wonder if that person gave any thought to the message that he was sending to his clients and prospective clients? I wonder
what sort of message you send to the people who are important to the success
of your small business?
