Here’s the right tool for a very tough job
It’s quite easy to become so engrossed in your own world that you forget that not everyone has the same working environment as you do.
I sit here in a comfortable home office in sunny Queensland using computers to produce my work and I don’t stop and think of where, or how, other people are using their computers and the conditions that they have to operate under.
Yet here in Hervey Bay there is a small but thriving fishing industry that also uses computers. Unfortunately not many computer and component manufacturers take the conditions that these guys have to operate under into account.
Moisture and rough handling are just some of the conditions that their computers have to contend with and few computers are built to withstand those conditions for long. But some manufacturers are beginning to think outside the box.
And here is one manufacturers response to data storage and transfer in extreme conditions.
